Grade 9 learners at Myeka High School recently engaged in an interactive Natural Sciences lesson under the guidance of their teacher, Mr Mhlongo. The focus of the lesson was on the reaction of metals with oxygen — a key concept in the study of chemical reactions.
Dressed in lab coats and working in a safe, supervised environment, learners carried out practical experiments to observe how different metals behave when exposed to oxygen. The activity allowed them to link theory to practice, strengthening their understanding through direct observation and experimentation.
These hands-on experiences are an important part of science education, helping learners develop critical thinking skills and a deeper appreciation for scientific inquiry. Mr Mhlongo ensured that the session was both educational and engaging, providing clear instruction and support throughout the process.
At Myeka High School, we remain committed to making science learning active, accessible, and inspiring for all our learners.
